    Hey gang,

I've seen a few posts about running SC2 Beta on the M11x and I was just wondering if anyone has any experience or can run a test and see how far they can push it settings wise on an external display?

    Any thoughts or comments appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Riblau

If I had mine I would let you know (stupid in production) :) But the game is amazing. I just wished the Beta had some campaign.

sorry to bump this, just still wondering if anyone can share any experiences now that the game is out. I still haven't tried it as I don't have a display at the moment, but I'm considering getting an HDMI to hook it to my TV...

well... i haven't tried at a higher resolution but most people are struggling playing just on the native resolution so i doubt it'll be any better on an external.. we're struggling to get it playable on medium settings.. hopefully drivers will come out and make it a lot more playable. especially for 3v3 and up. campaign is playable though.

I don't know what game you are playing, but I see no struggles on my m11x.

Might be that I have, y'know, reasonable expectations of the unit though. On native with everything set to medium, it runs fine in the high 20's - 30's on 3v3 maps. That said 3v3 sucks big time, stick to 1v1 and 2v2. Hahah

Honestly though even my desktop chugs a little with a E8400 and a gtx480 with 8 gigs of ram once you get into a big battle. Though that is on all ultra at 19x12.

If you run at reasonable settings(medium or less), make sure shadows are completely off, and follow some tweak guides, the game will run fine.

It is NOT a desktop replacement when it comes to gaming.

I play at 1920X1080 on medium/low settings and I play semi-competitively (in diamond league in singles and doubles) and are more of a micro than macro kind of guy. There are some studders especially when I chrono boost but it is more than playable and I do not notice the fps hindering my game at all. I dont have fps numbers because I dont pay attention to them when Im busy microing and macroing.... I have the i5.

I play on my 28.5" monitor at max resolution on high settings and it runs flawlessly on my R1.

flawlessly for an RTS doesnt mean 50 fps at beginning and then teens to mid twenties later in the game. max resolution with high i'd imagine it would play out pretty poorly in later parts of 1v1's and almost not playable in 2v2 3v3 4v4.

I play on my Ben-Q 24" monitor at 1920x1080 (native 19x12 wont work with sc2 for some odd reason). I have almost everything set to medium-high with post proc at low. Lowest fps I get throughout the whole match is 31 while the highest is about 52 sits about 29-43 avg. This is in the campaign and 1v1 matches only.

I've finally got around to doing some tests of my own, 1600x1080 (I think that's it) on medium-high combination and it plays just great on my 42inch HD tv.

I even did a quick test using the map editor with like 400 battlecruisers going crazy and it was still fine.

Can I just reiterate how much I love my M11x (R1), so so happy with it... :D
