Is it battlenet problem or what?
Last night played SC2 and getting constantly kicked out from multiplayer. Then it starts getting crashed and my starcraft 2 will crashed (Corrupted file) whenever i start any game. However, after restart m11x, everything runs normal again =.=ll i wonder why. Run disk check and found nothing. Weird though .. Still using the Dell's latest nvidia driver.

Same. I keep getting dropped in almost every game I play. It has to be a blizzard problem, I was completely fine before patch 1.1.1.

I'm still fine *knock on wood*

I've gotten to the first Char mission on singleplayer, now. Still getting owned by my friends :(

I know the strategies (lots of YouTube commentaries), but I just cannot handle the multi tasking, especially since it's a laptop (small screen + wierd sitting positions). With practice, I guess :(...

EDIT: no OC anywhere... and I am a R1, is that a factor? I did get a BSOD last night because I tried to switch the GPU to the Intel one, but that's rather unrelated.

here. I just turned off everything that said it needed the CPU. I get about 50FPS, average (random checks of the ingame FPS counter).

I also have steve's "R1 optimization" regedit applied, but it only made my cutscenes have skippy sound.

lol, I just realized at these settings, the Intel GPU plays SC2 rather fine, too

I left it on by accident, and didn't find out until I exited SC2.

yay! I am now rank 20 in my bronze league! :) :D

SC2 is a cpu intensive game. The i7 goes down to 20-25 fps in 1v1 max battles, so the c2d will be lower.

@Cumbaya19: The game should run great on low. My M11x R1 ran SC2 on a mixture of Med/high and I'd consistently get 20+fps up to 3v3. 200/200 army battles will cause severe drops in framerate even in 1v1 though.

This computer seriously sucks, and I regret buying it. I can't even play SC2 on lowest settings under the lowest resolution (1024x768). I have the latest drivers and I'm not running anything else. I'm definitely going to sell this and buy something that works.

I think he has an R2 or an R3. running on the intel display card?

The m11x is all its forms can play this game well.

I mean with an r1. Playing through campaign, with 1366x768. I get nothing below 30fps. with medium/high graphic settings.

I have an R2, and it's running the 335m (I hope it is). I whitelisted it and SC2 even recommends medium settings, but in a 1v1 I lag so bad mid-late game with lowest settings. No OC/turbo boost.

Goto the settings and turn down every option that says it relies on the CPU for performance, like physics, reflections, etc.

I think you should try enabling OC or turbo boost, maybe throttlestop?
I think i5 and i7 cores underclock for the temps of voltage, they need something like throttlestop to keep pumping up the power

And I suppose OC or turbo boost will let you play the game smooth, they both are valid in the Dell/Alienware warranty and won't damage your system
    : )

maybe a r2 user here can help you with some details on how to OC your machine to get optimal performance with this game!

I have to say that PC-specific games like SC2, Company of Heroes, Dawn of War 2 etc are the M11x's weakpoint. I think my R1 is amazing, but the C2D is just not capable of the processor-intensive effects that are used to create beautiful PC games. Scripted single player with low unit counts is fine, but when you get into a custom game like Marine Arena and there are 8 guys with huge balls of death it will be a problem if your settings are higher than low.

Gj man. I started in silver with beta and am up to mid diamond league now. Check out the day9 daily (google) especially on newbie Tuesdays where he commentates on lower level games. VODs on day9tv.blip.tv. Tons of pros stream on teamliquid.net.

The best way to learn and practice mechanics is in 2/3/4vX games where you won't get punished so hard for being new. Use hotkeys, don't click to build things and avoid scrolling around with your mouse. Always build workers constantly the whole game and keep building units to keep your money low. That will get you to platinum league np.

Sorry if I post this topic in the wrong place but I feel like it's urgent. I got starcraft 2 for my m11x r3 and I noticed my fps were very bad. People have been saying that the r2 can run this at ultra.... Mine can't at all. It starts at 30 fps no matter where I am. The best I can play is on medium. And I won't lie I get like 80 fps. However its disappointing cause I have an r3 and I can't even touch ultra. Could it be my driver? I'm using the 285.67. And I overlapped it with my last driver. Could that be hurting my fps? Please help me guys I don't know what to do! Do I need to clean install the driver Agian and completely driver sweep the 285.67 away and reinstall it?

    Thanks in advance guys.

if anyone can tell me why I can't play on ultra at 60 fps with my r3 please let me know!

Have you whitelisted sc 2 to run on just on the dedicated graphics card.

According to NotebookCheck, the GT 540M doesn't run SC2 at Ultra very well at all:

    NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M - Notebookcheck.net Tech

Try turning it down to High. An overclock of your GPU might help too. My GT 555M (M14x) runs Ultra at like 40-45 fps, but with an overclock it goes up to near 60.

Being unable to play SC2 on 1024x768 means there is something wrong. Using the latest beta drivers and a 164 overclock I was able to play SC2 for an hour and a half last night. 3v3 with 2 humans, framerate never dropped below 30 even with 20 void rays flying around.

Your drivers are either screwed or you're just too dumb to whitelist your game correctly. Telling everyone that the M11x is because it can't run SC2 is downright false.

Calling me dumb is very immature, ridiculous infact. I know how to whitelist a game for gods sake I just chose starcraft 2 and choose high performance in the nividia control panel.

Never said it was the m11x sorry for that misunderstanding. And thanks uber. I'll look into overclocking it. For the record domino I can run the game beautifully just not on ultra which stays stable at 30 fps I just heard it could do better. Sorry for the misunderstanding though. Reassuring to know there's Nothing wrong with how my computer is performing at the moment

I'm playing it on native resolution dude.... The highest it can go and I'm getting average 60fps on ultra textures and medium settings. So don't call me dumb sand things when I'm clearly new to. This.

What is the best way to play without because I see a lot of people who have m11x and play the game without lag on at least med settings. For example what is the best driver to use I am trying not to overclock because I dont want to burn a whole in my laptop when playing.. I have a m11x R2 i7
