Well same ol' same ol' on Optimus. I added it to whitelist, set Nvidia gpu as preferred, nothin. The Nvidia detector program says its off during SC2 but on during WoW.
I have the drivers that came with the laptop, and when I go to install Optimus updated driver says it can't find my hardware. I think I saw a work around for it a month or 2 ago but I'm wondering if it will even solve this issue.

Well, try downloading with the ones at Dell:
Drivers & Downloads
They are the 570.30 versions, and I myself have been using them.
Now I don't have a copy of SC2, but they should work. -

Use the stated steps to install...Note that the general steps to install clean drivers are the same for all drivers that require the .inf file update.

258.96 works fine with SC2. My memory is a little fuzzy but I think even the Dell Beta Drivers work with SC2 too.

Can you try going to nvidia control panel -> Manage 3D settings -> Global Settings
In the pull down box, select and apply the nvidia card instead of the intel.
I am running the Dell driver 257.30 and had problem with the game Infernal that I downloaded from steam. Even I had added it to the whitelist, the nvidia still will not kick in. So I change the above settings and the nvidia now kicks in. Of course this defeats the automatic switching feature, but it does the job to play the game. Just remember to switch it back to intel if you need the power saving feature. -

I have a dilemma as well...just received my M11x today. I have had R1 and returned an R2 so i can get the new i7 cpu so I more or less have an idea what this machine can or can't do.
I updated the optimus to latest dell site 257.30 driver and played MW2 beautifully. Just installed Starcraft 2 and launched game.
1) It says my video card is not detected??
2) Ignoring it, i pushed through the installation and launched game, but under OPTION the max resolution I could find was 1360 x 768 (no 1366) i assume its cause it didnt detect my video card)
3) Curious now... I launched and the game seem to play ok for now on high quality at 1360 x 768..
any suggestion for a fix? Im kinda anal about my hardware and didnt really want any modded software. Is there anything I didnt install or need to set to allow list?
Thanks in advance. -

thanks for the reply, video was a good guide and very easy to follow. But my SC2 will only stll give me 1360 x 768, not that 0006 pixel mattered to me, in fact i couldnt even tell. Just wonder why the menu wont show me full 1366 x 768....but it seems to play fine, even at massive unit battle scene. Thanks again.

so will starcraft 2 run with its integrated graphics kicking in on the dell stock 257.30 drivers once manually added on white list?

howard:
There is no 1366x768 resolution to choose from Starcraft II. If you are running with decent performance on high settings, you are definitely using the Nvidia GPU.
Still, its only 6 pixels off so I think so I don't think you'll notice any difference in image quality.
A couple of people were talking about the same issue in the SCII thread. Don't worry about it. -

Got it, thanks... and yea 6 pixel is no big deal, i can't notice anything. It does run fine at HIGH details all around. Heck, hooked it up to my 1080P TV and runs beautifully no lag
Starcraft II retail not using Nvidia (m11xR2)
