    Recently I have been experiencing an obnoxious error with every Steam game I try to launch besides Fallout: NV. Every game that I try and open closes to the desktop without launching. I have tried reinstalling the games, yet this error continues. I have tried Batman Arkham Asylum, Resident Evil 5, Half Life 2, Portal, Left For Dead 2, etc. Furthermore, every game that I launch that doesn't use steam works flawlessly. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    I'm not sure, try reinstalling steam, if that doesn't work, contact their tech support, they're really good about getting back to you ASAP.

    Did you try and "verify integrity of game cache"? Worked for L4D2 that was crashing to my desktop.
