I was just wondering if swapping the 335m with one of the newer Geforce M gpus was possible? Is the GPU soldered to the board or does it plug into a slot of some type?
I would really like to have Dx11 capability.

sorry, it's soldered to the board =(

Supposing one has amazing soldering capabilities and successfully swaps the chip with another gpu, would it theoretically work? I know that there is a Physx or w/e engine on the laptop, but is this a separate physical chip?

Maybe yes, you have to make sure that the pins of the chip you solder do the same functions as the pins of the 335m (for example if pin 1, pin 2, 3 make the same function as the 335m, maybe its not like the cpu, that you just plug it to a socket and thats all), also a newer chip needs more power to work and also I dont know if the heatsink can dissipate efficiently the extra heat from the new chip.

our best bet is to pinmod the voltage regulator to increase clocks on the 335m to get more graphical power.

yes! the best thing is to pinmod the voltage regulator to get more power, its more easy!

If you want DX11 then you're probably looking at the wrong computer.
