    Switching Graphics Mode

    I know I saw the thread that answered this question on here but can't seem to find it. My question is do you have to close mcagent.exe in order to manually switch the graphics mode on an R1?

    you mean... the mcaffe AV? I outright uninstalled it and replaced it with MSE...


    But no, you shouldn't need to. There is nothing that mcaffee does that would remotely justify using the GPU (and thus blocking the R1 from switching GPU modes).

    EDIT: to be clear, I had ownership of a SU7300 R1 and now a 640UM R2.

    It makes sense that McAfee wouldn't need to use the GPU but why am I forced to exit out of it just to switch my graphics then?

    Not sure why, perhaps the GUI. In any case kill it with fire and go with Nod32, MSE or Avast.
