    I ordered a M11xR2 i5. 4gig 1333, 250 hdd . Dell Outlet.

The cost was 939.00 +209 for warranty.( 2 year accidental )
In California the sales tax is 8.75%
    Im being charged 72.70 tax.
There was a -20% discount Code used aswell.

Calculating the tax thats tax on 831.00 ish.

Calling dell on the phone.. i get India.. also instant chatting via keyboard.. india.. Both.. infact 6 reps told me the purchace of 1040.09 consisted of :

    391.20 laptop
    577.00 warranty
    72.70 tax
    8.00 recycling fee.

I asked for SEVEN hours on different calls and departments how they came up wtih 72.70 tax.. no one is answering the question.

I read, in California, we don't get taxed for a warranty that has no premium to pay. If $577.00 is the warranty ( extended and normal 1 year ? ) then 391.20 is taxable. Even if it was 939.00 + tax.. it still doesn't come out to 72.70.

    * how am I paying 577 for a warranty on a $400 laptop ><

Should I refund this and just settle for a m11x R1 for a lesser price even though the tax issue is still questionable?

I'm pondering on just trying to find a deal 3rd party.

Is there anyway to actually chat to Dell in USA ?

I have a UPS lable waiting for the FULL refund which took 1.5 hrs to chat to El Salvadore.

I was hung up on 2 times.

Is this normal to experience on first time Dell business dealings?

Dell figures tax kinda weird. I think "Tax" is the amount they throw in to get to a number they like. Tax on my M17X R2 made no sense, I did get a good deal though.

Get a friend in Oregon, Montana, or the other state with no sales tax and ship to them. Problem solved.

At least thats what I did...
