As title^, are they just different colours and P/N or do they have different fitments and all?
In other words if I had M11X R1, would R2 or R3 bottom access panel work for me just fine?
Same goes if I am trying to get panel for m11x R2 will R1 bottom access panel work?

Also, how about LCD assy differences between all 3 models, are they completely interchangeable or not? I mean where it comes full LCD/LID/HINGES/PLEXI GLASS/WEBCAM - Full complete assy.

    Thanks

The short answer is no to the bottom panels. I was looking into this a while back when I had the idea of swapping my R1 motherboard for an R3 but soon found out that the port openings on the bottom panels are different between the R1, R2 and R3 and upgrading the motherboard would be essentially the same as buying a new laptop (minus the screen assembly). Also, the R2 (and probably R3) touchpad panels do not fit on an R1 either. I found this out when I ordered an R1 touchpad panel and the seller sent me an R2 panel by mistake. It looked like it was going to fit but it would not because of differences in the shape of the motherboards.

As far as the screen assembly is concerned, I am pretty sure all 3 revisions are compatible. The only differences I am aware of are the colors and if they have either 2 or 4 wireless antennas (some have and extra 2 antennas for using a WWAN card). If you replace the screen assembly, make sure you get one with the improved reinforced hinges. The part numbers for the improved hinge design panels are in the link below.

    Thanks for your detailed response.
I think I may have not explained myself well enough. I know main base chassis part where motherboard sits is different for R1 and R2 (R2 and R3 are the same)
But what I was asking about was this access panel compatibility

They look the same at first glance, but you may notice that the screw placement is slightly different between the R1 and R3.

R1 panel (note the position of the screw to the left and right of the name badge, as well as the screw next to the battery indicator)

R3 Panel (Note the position of the screws compared to the R1 panel indicated above as well as visual differences with some of the other screw positions as well)

Here's a link I found about some differences between the R2 and R3 that should help with :
