As the title says, it can run Garry's Mod, Half-Life 2 plus all episodes on extreme settings without any problem but when I try to run Day of Defeat Source or Counter-Strike source I get about 5 fps on medium settings.
Yes, I have whitelisted hl2.exe
EDIT: I can also load Day of Defeat Source maps in Garry's Mod without any fps issues...

Bumping this,
I have tested other source games such as Portal and Team FOrtress 2, they work fine... -
If I remember correctly there should be a DoD.exe somewhere
What driver v you got? Can you see GPU running in system tray? -
I have already tested the latest driver from nvidia's site but it didn't work. -
Are you also in high performance mode? -
-
What driver are you using and have you tried any different driver versions?

Hmm.. Looks like manskinboots had same problem...

Maybe he can enlighten us on if and how he fixed it..
I would suggest re-posting this in the game crashes thread that is a sticky.
http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...gaming-lockups-crashes-discussion-thread.html
If anything that will bring it more attention and also its posting it in the correct place and possibly the answer already lies within that thread but I don't have to read through it because I don't have this issue..
The only last thing I can think of is try overclocking CPU and overclocking GPU and also try turning off speed step and turbo boost in the BIOS (do that for both occasions)
Turning off Speed step and turbo boost in BIOS for GTA has increased the performance greatly.. perhaps it will work the same -

Call Alienware Support
1800 ALIENWARE -
Bumping this again, my post in the came crash thread is getting ignored by people whining about the rules of the thread.
I'm not going to contact Alienware support or Dell since they only make things worse from my experience. After some research, Day of Defeat Source only uses hl2.exe when running which is whitelisted like any other Source game. This are the games/mods I can run based on the Source/Orange Box Engine with highest possible settings:
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2 Episode One
HAlf-Life 2 Episode Two
Half-Life 2 Lost Coast
Half-Life 2 Deathmatch
Garry's Mod
Portal
Team Fortress 2
Counter-Strike Source
The only one I can't play is Day of Defeat Source which uses the Orange Box Engine I guess? I don't understand this, it uses same graphics options in the settings like any other Source game. It's like it thinks it should use the Intel HD Graphics instead of the nVidia card.
Any new ideas?
UPDATE: I have now fully tested Counter-Strike Source which is a twin to Day of Defeat Source and it works like a charm... this is just getting more and more strange. -
Good news boys and girls! I think I fixed the issue... I was desperate the latest hour and I tried almost every driver for the M11xR2 and finally I got to the 260.99 driver and it automatically detected Day of Defeat Source and added it to the whitelist including hl2.exe.
Thanks for your help people, finally I can enjoy this game again!
The M11x can run Garry's Mod but not Day of Defeat Source?
