I live at 9k feet in the West Elk Mts, my house is 3 miles in the woods. The other night I was walking home from a friends house (in town) and I came across a big black bear in my path (big being 400-600lbs). All I had on me was my backpack with my M11x in it. So I took off my pack and started yelling while holding up my pack in the air. I was lucky, the bear took the hint and ran off. I would have used my M11x as a weapon if I had to. I wonder if Dell would replace a "dammaged by bear" laptop. Any way I was very happy to have it on me in that instance.

I don't think the actual laptop itself was damaged but rather he lifted the backpack in the air which contained the laptop and waved it in the air like a mad man

True, but I would have used it as a weapon if needed. When it comes to my life, my M11x can be replaced. Im happy that acting like a nut made it go away. And no I didnt contact Dell to ask if bear melee was covered, lol.

Would have been quite the laugh though if you did. Remember that a laptop can be replaced but a life can not.

Did you try asking the bear what actually vexes him?

Some conflicts can be avoided with diplomacy and dialogue without any violence.

Reading this I keep thinking about that cell phone security comercial where that guy chucks his cell phone at another person's head knocking him out lol.. you put up a good bluff but that m11x smacking that bear in his head probly would have ticked him off, he probly would have tour your head off and eat your m11x..

It is a true story, but not my first encounter with a bear. Its what I get for living in the woods.
