I will be honest with you here, but personally I have had better and more stable gaming experiences with the latest drivers on the dell website. They are supported and it doesnt need you mod anything. I would stick with them.

I also say this because if it goes wrong (it generally won't) you could be sat in this forum waiting on help if your not that confident in problem solving. Instead of enjoying your new gaming buddy! Especially if its just to gain the odd fps now and then.

    Enjoy :)

    Wholeheartedly agree.

It is best not to just install unofficially released drivers (or modifed INFs) without being aware of the risks involved. The drivers with modified INF are not that much newer than the officials at this point. With the officially released drivers you receive full support from Dell/Alienware now and any issues found can be fixed in a later release. With Dell/Alienwares release history with drivers I would expect to see a new release sooner than later. And if Nvidia finally adds the proper ID strings to the INF you will be able to use any new Verde released by Nvidia.

You may want to double check "Programs and Features" in "Control Panel" and see if there is anything there to uninstall for Nvidia.

Probably a direct result of whatever you did prior ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/6435063-post291.html). I suggest sticking with the Dell driver until you read up more on using modded NV display drivers.

If you cant get back to normal, do a recovery using DataSafe Local.

    You have two options:

    OPTION 1 -

    1. Change windows 7 automatic driver install/hardware update to OFF - google: "Disable Windows 7 Automatic Hardware Install"
    2. Uninstall NVIDIA Display Driver using the Programs and Features Control Panel
    3. Reboot into Safe Mode (F8 @ the BIOS)
    4. Once in Safe Mode, run CCleaner's Registry clean. When finished, reboot
    5. Once at the desktop, run the install for the DELL NV DRIVER

    If this does not work,

    OPTION 2 -

Use your recovery media which you should have created using Dell's DataSafe Local. This will restore your system to factory-out of box.

Once you are back up and running - stick with the stock Dell driver until you learn a bit more on using modded INFs.

Restoring using the Dell DataSafe Local rescue media only takes 15+ minutes. Not long at all. In any event, best of luck - hope it works out.

If you mean restoring your Steam games after performing a factory recovery using DataSafe Local, well - grab an external drive and use the Steam function to backup your local game files prior to the system restore. Easier than downloading GBs worth of games all over again... ;)

well that too, ha. but what i meant was the error i got when trying to run GTA4 was telling me how i had to run vista service pack 1 or more, and im running windows 7, so i right clicked steam on my desktop, clicked properties, then clicked the compatibility tab, and used the drop down box to locate windows 7 maybe? but i couldnt find it there, all i found was everything BEFORE windows 7

Might want to file a troubleticket with Steam. Not sure but sounds like a steam issue and not an M11xR2 issue.
