    Do you have one?

I'm wanting to carry it around with me, and really don't want it looking like my M15X as it has smudge marks and minor scratches due to travel... :S

    Does anybody have any pictures?

I have just been notified that Green Onions Supply do ship to Australia.
But it'll be like $50 for the shipping/item total...

Pro-tip: No, not necessarily. They'll give you refurb R2s if they have it instead.

Those cheeky buggers, replacing with refubs instead of a whole new screen.

Hopefully I don't have any problems as I'm getting an R3.

Are there any known problems with the R3 as there were with the R2?

The R3 seems to have very little problems at all. Any mistakes from the previous gens have been learnt from (e.g. hinges) and it has been refined into a very fine little machine.

All I can say to that is my old man's saying “Sick Cat, Mad Dog”!
AKA that's good news... Yeah, Im confused with the analogy too... lol.

    Thank again.

So I'm guessing it's safe to say that this thread can now be closed if a Mod wishes to do so. Either that or get buried under.

Thankyou all, I've gone from a pre-owned R2 i3 to a new R3 i5... and even just getting a larger laptop or whatnot, however it was the size and build quality and also Dell's custmer/technical support that swayed me... and an i5 processor...

So, ladies, gentlemen, boys and girls... thank-you.

I've seen more reports on the AW NBR section of people getting:
    - New exact system
    - New revision of the same model
    - New different model (such as the M15X low spec getting replaced with an M14X and M15X high spec getting replaced with an M17XR3)

...rather than a refurb replacement :p

That may apply to some, but I wouldn't let them do that to me. I'd try, try and try various reps and supervisors until I got a new replacement/upgrade, and believe me, being persistent does pay off. HP tried giving me a refurb replacement once, so I called several times to complain and they sent me a new upgrade instead of a refurb replacement of the same model ;)

Haha definitely some Aussie slang in there, my mates and me say "sick rat, mad dog" all the time. Yes, it is a good thing! :D

No i don't have a pic sadly, but imagine a normal monitor with the screen & border, now imagine that border has a glossy plastic screen ontop of it, which encases the entire thing.

Again, try READING what I wrote and what you wrote "if you did purchase an extended warranty from Dell and something were to happen to it, they're now replacing it with R3's". They do not, I repeat they DO NOT replace R2 with R3s by default. *IF* and only *if* you go through a lot of hassle and the replacement laptops break, they *might* replace it with R3. But do not expect if your R2 breaks down, immediately receive R3 as a replacement.

And again, try reading my post. There are plenty of posters who have gotten an R3 after their R2's broke down for good. It's all about which rep / supervisor you deal with on the phone. I also mentioned that "That may apply to some" regarding this upgrade in my previous post. You shouldn't discredit the possibility just because it hasn't happened to you or your lack of post reading on the matter :)

Happened to me, took alot of time and hassle but i eventually got it replaced with an R3 and they even gave me $300 cash back. Almost anything is possible, it purely depends on who you speak to and how you can convince them.
