Hey Guys! I tried searching the forums but all i got was people who want their touch pads to get disabled while typing. Personally It's affecting my gaming without a mouse since i can't use the touchpad while moving. (pressing on the WASD keys)

The drivers I'm using for synaptics are 15.2.7. Any idea how I can get the feature back?

you could uninstall the touchpad drivers all together, i dont even use them. i use the standard windows 7 driver and havent had a problem.

not to thread jack, but if someone could tell me how to disable the touchpad while typing/having external mouse connected, that'd be great. i've used the settings option to give disable in the mouse settings, but that hasnt worked yet :/

try different drivers, or use a program called TouchFreeze.

Alienware command center>AlienTouch>Disable TouchPad when external USB mouse is attached.
That's the way I'm using right now and of course, it works ;)

    Good luck

its quite possible that your palm is resting on part of the touch pad, cuz this happened to me. if that is the case and you have big hands, u just need to adjust touchpad sensitivty in command center.

Hey guys I found the answer to my problem already. Apparently my settings for the "Palm sensitivity" was to high. So even if you type (without touching the touchpad) it will turn off by itself.

figured out why my "disable touchpad when usb mouse is connected": it's because i'm using a bluetooth mouse that's built in rather than an external usb adapter. .
