The past few days I have been having an issue. I went into my mouse settings and set it to deactivate the touchpad when I have an external mouse connected. I turned my computer on yesterday morning and it was no long turning the touchpad off. I checked the settings, and the tab that contained the setting to turn off the touchpad while the mouse is connected is no longer there. I've tried rebooting, I've looked for driver updates, there don't seem to be any. I've looked online for solutions. Nothing. I did find on here, to go into the command center and to Alientouch and check it there as well.. But when I go into Command Center > Alien touch nothing even comes up. Like with the other two, the options pop up, but when I click on alien touch - nothing, just the background.
So any help would be highly appreciated.

You need the older drivers from the Dell site, IIRC the new ones disable the feature.

Thank you, next question. How do I find out what drivers I'm looking for particularly, so I don't accidentally download the wrong ones.

Can't really download the wrong one, there's only one there (for the R3 anyway). It will be under "input". You're after drivers for the Synaptics TouchPad.
