    Hey guys,

I just got my R2 today and I originally decided I wanted the 260.99 driver because it was the most stable. Now I hear that 266.58 has the punkbuster fix for bad company 2... So I decided to download it. ~160MB later I run it and after the compatibility test it states "The Graphics driver could not find any compatible graphics hardware." Am I completely missing something? On the R1 it would just ask for a clean install when I was in discrete mode. Now there is a compatibility issue? Is it something to do with optimus? Do I need to install it another way? Any help for this R2 noob would be much appreciated :)

P.S. It is the Windows 7 Driver. Not the XP one. Made sure of that. (and its off of the Nvidia site)

Try manually uninstalling the 260.99 driver then extract the 266.58 go to the extracted folder and run the setup. Maybe use ccleaner right after 260.99 and do a registry fix.

I just straight installed 266.58 w/o doing anything else from 260.99 and it's working fine so far. Knock on wood.

I too installed 266.58 over whatever Dell shipped my M11x with with no issue at all. What Muffin said might be worth a shot. Try removing the drivers and installing the new ones.

Driver Sweeper, then Dell driver, then NVIDIA driver

Nvidias new driver code means you can install on top of old drivers. First, do a clean reboot and try running the installer again. If it still pops in the error, do what IRSmurf suggests.

This usually always works for me.
    - Uninstall all nvidia releated programs
    - Reboot in safe-mode
    - Run driver sweeper
    - Reboot and install new drivers

Oh wow. I completely and utterly can not read. I have been trying to install it for the past 45min. Safemode + CCleaner + Driver Sweeper... if only I read the driver. I googled 266.58 verde windows 7 driver but didnt realize there was a desktop one too. So this whole time I have been trying to install the wrong driver. Thank you all for your advice :) At least now I have a clean registry!
