    Turn the LCD screen off when using HDMI

    Is there a way to turn off the laptop's LCD screen when using an external monitor via HDMI? I have tried FN+F1 but it doesn't go black.

    Hit WindowsKey + P with the HDMI cable attached.
    Select "Projector Only" mode.

    Now, your laptop will only output a video signal through the attached external display (HDMI).

    I just tried the nircmd thing to switch it off but when I do that it will turn the external monitor off as well...
