    Hey forum,

I've had my m11x r1 for about 4 months now. i love this little bugger, but i have come across two glitches that i need help fixing:

Glitch #1) My trackpad is disabled even when no USB mouse is connected.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Synaptics drivers from the dell support website, the drivers form teh synaptics website, and the scrybe drivers. they either didn't support "disable touchpad when USB mouse is connected" or if it did support it, the trouchpad would be disabled no matter what.

This feature did work up until last week. This is a needed feature for me because my hand constantly hits the track pad when gaming, throwing off my cursor accuracy!

Note: Not sure if this matters, but this glitch only showed up after i connected an external mouse, keyboard, and monitor to my m11x and closed the m11x. Essentially turning it into a desktop tower

Glitch #2) Control panel crashes the first time i open it every time.

this glitch showed up about 3 weeks ago. the first time i open control panel from a fresh boot or restart, it will freeze windows explorer 100% of the time. when i restart windows explorer, the control panel works fine, but i see that DW Wlan card utility pops up in control panel. so it seems that DW Wlan card utility is causing windows explorer to freeze when i open the control panel.

Will removing DW Wlan card utility prevent me from connecting to a wifi network?

    Sorry for the long post.

    Hello There,

On your DW LAN Issue you can use the windows base wireless so there's not problem if you disable it.

Also you can Restore your laptop to a early time when everything was working fine. It looks like a software issue or something wrong with your Windows.

Give it a try to see if you can fix both problems. Just use System Restore.

    Good luck!

you know I had glitch #2 as well, it was when I installed a driver too, one of the wireless ones

I couldn't tell you how I fixed it because I just put the OEM hard drive back in and put my intel SSD in my desktop

Sounds like you've got some software and/or driver corruption. I'd suggest a restore or reinstall to clean it up, or if you've kept close track of what you've installed since the problems started, try backing it all out. I don't have any of these problems on any of my systems here at Alienware.

Thanks guys. I usually do a system restore when this happens, herp derp. Hopefully, doing so will fix these problems.
