Lately I've noticed the temperatures of the components rise more and more while playing a game, but also when the M11x is idle.

    CPU load max. = 70 C
    CPU idle = 40 C

    GPU load max. = 79 C
    GPU idle = 50 C

These temperatures are a lot higher than a couple of months back. I believe my fan is clean. What can cause this rise of temperature? Should I contact Dell?

whiles those temps are slightly higher than average, there still within the thermal guidelines.

The thermal paste contacting the heatsink with the chips can degrade over time, but first things first, Are you sure your fans/vents are clean?? shove a hoover to the vents :D

Removing the bottom access plate and blowing it out with canned air would be a better method of cleaning the fan assembly than a vacuum. Vacuums can cause static buildup/discharge.

Any chance that the average ambient temperature in your environment has changed recently?

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Use compressed air.

I've never had my temps exceed 51C and that's while playing Crysis for a couple hours. You're not laying it flat on a bed for instance, are you?

    Thanks for your replies :)
Of course I use it on a flat desk all the time ;) I'm not that stupid.
I have BIOS A05 installed. If I screw it open on the bottom, can I reach the fan? I always thought it would only get me to the battery and harddrive and such (never actually tried it)
