I may have overlooked information on the exact same information already disseminated amongst the community. I have had my display assembly and display replaced once back in September. I called today due to my display flopping in either direction about 2 inches with 0 force applied. I also am experiencing a battery problem where it will tell me battery not recognized frequently and then it will work fine. not exactly great for when i need it. The rep told me they have a new display assembly that requires a replacement top panel (palm rest), has anyone heard of this for the M11xR1? I deeply apologize for my lack of proper english im heavily medicated due to terrible illness.

    Thanks in advance,

    Kaldon

Sorry to hear you're not having luck with hinges.

There have been quite a few reports here from owners and potential buyers of their being assured by phone representatives (support or sales) that there has been a fix for the hinges. These claims have either been proven false by the customer or have later been refuted by other Dell representatives who would be in the loop about such a fix being in place.

As recently as today Dell has stated that there is not yet a fix for the R1 or R2 hinges and that when there is one they will let us know. See the following post from Dell-ChrisM.

m11x hinge issues? - Alienware Forum - Alienware Club - Dell Community

You were lied to in an effort to smooth things over and to placate you. Having heard that you might have briefly thought, "Well at least Dell is stepping up to the plate and taking care of their customers with a proper solution."

    Well, now you know.

EDIT: Hope you start feeling better soon. Your English is great.
