I just upgraded my intel igraphix driver for my m11x r2 notebook. I have battery bar installed on my notebook, and I noticed a large difference. On balanced mode, my laptop prior to the driver update would pull 17,000 ish mw. With the recently updated driver... It went down to 14000 ish.. All in all, my battery life has jumped up about an hour altogether.. It was a silent update. I would recommend all of you to get it.

I wonder if OP is referencing the 2202 driver that was released on the dell site. I have not found a newer one anywhere else. I did notice a bit of a decrease in the wattage used as well, but unfortunately not too overwhelming of a difference.

There's an option in the Intel graphics options for battery savings:
Right click on your desktop> graphics properties> power tab<-adjust these settings

Of course, you can always tweak for power savings plan, and turn off alienfx and keep lcd brightness minimum. i get around 11-13k draw.

I love this thread. No info about the drivers in mention except that they are great for battery life.

That's because the OP hasn't posted back in his own thread yet.
As for my comment, they apply to any Intel graphics driver.

I've been running with that driver for about 3 weeks when it was first announced here by Nautis. Previous to that I'd been running the most current driver offered by Intel, which at the time was newer than the driver provided by Dell. No difference in the last two Intel drivers, but if you're coming from the Dell driver then I do believe it helped somewhat.

Sorry.. I had used the intel update tool. I honestly did not look.. All I cared about was the battery life, and I figured I would give you guys a heads up.

To tell the truth, I just keep updating Intel Graphic Driver hoping that the battery life will be extended...

    Now I am using 15.21.5.64.2266 (8.15.10.2266).
