    Ok, so I downloaded Kopicha's modded .inf file and installed the 258.96 drivers (142Mb whoa!) as detailed in this thread. However, after I rebooted the system, I noticed the nVidia control panel is missing from my group of notification icons. How do I get it back?

    Did u uninstall the old driver, reboot, boot into safemode, driversweep display driver, reboot, install the new driver?
