    Hello,

I am currently using the M11X R1 model with the U7300 processor OC'd via BIOS to 1.7ghz per core.

My question is, can i upgrade the CPU in this netbook to the i5 or i7 or something simular? Is this possible? Where would i find a retailer for this?

You can't upgrade the cpu, it's soldered to the motherboard.

The SU7300 and Core i processors are completely different, impossible.

    Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 is a BGA956 Socket
The Core i series are BGA1288.

The only absolute technical upgrades are SU9300, SU9400, and SU9600. All still core 2 duos, low voltage, with very minimal performance increase. Let alone the processor is sautered on the motherboard by Dell, which makes that bad idea of upgrading, impossible.

Not only that, the CPU is actually soldered to the motherboard.

Also, the R1 and R2 chasis, are not the same. The HSF is also different, since the NB is integrated onto the CPU die's package (i5/i7), compared to the C2D, which mantains it as a seperate package.

I'm pretty sure there was a thread were they found the PLL, with a pin mod you could overclock higher.
