Is it possible to upgrade to the advanced warranty (accidental damage one) later on if I only buy it with the base warranty?

Yes. You can upgrade anytime during your current warranty period. But it will cost more. You can also get accidental from non-Dell insurers, which is typically much cheaper, and what many on here have done (including myself).

Here is another idea for you, its what I did.
I used the $350 coupon and only upgraded to the i7 ($200) and got the 2 year accidental warranty, which I think put me over the $1459 mark. It made sense to me since I really wanted that extended warranty, and the other upgrades like RAM and harddrive I can buy off newegg or something over time.
I've never had anything accidental happen to any of my computers, but it just gives some peace of mind which I wanted for this one since I'll be lugging it around more.
If you don't think you need the extended warranty, you could prolly get 4 years of the regular with the i7 upgrade and be around that $1459 mark needed to use the coupon. -
Thanks Guys! Any good 3rd party warranty companies you would recommend?
