Is it possible to upgrade to the advanced warranty (accidental damage one) later on if I only buy it with the base warranty?

Yes. You can upgrade anytime during your current warranty period. But it will cost more. You can also get accidental from non-Dell insurers, which is typically much cheaper, and what many on here have done (including myself).

Here is another idea for you, its what I did.

I used the $350 coupon and only upgraded to the i7 ($200) and got the 2 year accidental warranty, which I think put me over the $1459 mark. It made sense to me since I really wanted that extended warranty, and the other upgrades like RAM and harddrive I can buy off newegg or something over time.

I've never had anything accidental happen to any of my computers, but it just gives some peace of mind which I wanted for this one since I'll be lugging it around more.

If you don't think you need the extended warranty, you could prolly get 4 years of the regular with the i7 upgrade and be around that $1459 mark needed to use the coupon.

Square trade, had it for my m11x. Sent it to them due to the hinge issue. They determined it was to costly to fix and cut me a check for 790$(amount I paid for my m11xr1)

Nice! Did you get to keep the computer and the money?
