I have one m11x from best buy
    Model: AM11X-2719CSB

I want to change the hard disk to 500gb or up, and ram to 8gb

I think this are the specs of the currect Ram

    JEDEC PC3-8500 / PC3-10600 (DDR3) SODIMM memory 1066mhz
    2 x (2GB)

    and Hard Drive

2.5 inch SATA hard drive 7200rpm
    250GB

if someone can help me or suggest some hard disk or ram

in order to choose the best option, and then modify it,

    thank you very much :D

I would recommend the Seagate Momentus XT for a HDD. I'm using one in my m11x right now, and it is fast.

i dont know how much ram the bestbuy comes with but 4gb is good enought imo only get more ram if you really want it/money isn't an issue

Is expandible to 8gb and I believe that could be faster with the improvement, although i dont know much about this

unless you run virtual machines or software you know needs more than 4gb, don't bother because you won't see an improvement.

LOL, HUGE NO!, unless you are some sort of engineer, CAD editor, insane photoshop maker, run HEAVY math calculations, run many virtual machines or very VERY insane multitasking while gaming.

For example Im an electronics and digital systems engineering student we code some HEAVY programs to find some sort of complex solutions that take some time and consume loads of memory, we develop math formulas and physics scenarios, sometimes we have to run 2 or even more virtual machines on our exams... Thats why I have 8gb... Not because it would make my system faster...

4gb is enough atm.. ;) Perhaps you should get an SSD, but again... It is a waste of money if you dont really need it...

Take the cash by not doing this and get an SSD, that will be the biggest performance increase you could do.

Always nice to see someone "using" a computer rather than playing with it.

That's why you need 8Gb, because you need it. It's not worth getting it to have it sitting there empty :)

Very basically SSD > Momentus XT > HDD

The Momentus XT is not an SSD, it is a HDD + 4Gb of SSD that it uses to boost read speeds.

The momentus xt is a masterpiece of hardware!. I can tell you that the intel ssd is more than impresive but the momentus xt offers plenty storage room! also it delivers GREAT performance.

I second this recommendation. I put one in mine and it appears that my commonly used apps are snappier. windows 7 load up time is also cut down from 43sec to 28s.

BUT if you can afford SSD, do your research on benchmarks for all those SSDs out there.
