    Hi,

I've had my M11X R3 for about 3 months now and STILL love this thing. Only thing bothering me that I noticed from day one that whenever I play media files it seems to skip. For example, whenever I play a avi, mkv, etc the video will freeze for a second then distort and the audio will drag and sound distorted. I thought maybe this might be a codec problem however it does the samething during ITunes when playing my music. Anyone having similar problems? FYI, I use VLC to play video files. Thanks!

Yes, that's because VLC does not use the GPU to accelerate video . I had the same issue until I tried Windows Media Player.( I know that sounds stupid). I now use Media Player Classic Home Cinema, its free and it uses acceleration...perfect smooth 1080p video. :)

Is it the HDD drop sensor stopping the hard drive from playing the video?

From what I have heard, even that version only partially supports GPU acceleration...I may be wrong though, as I stopped using VLC for playing HD video soon after I got my M11X. For me, there was a night and day difference between VLC and MPC, and CPU usage went way down also. :)

I had the same problem a while ago. But nothing helped and it got worse. Audio stuttering and video skipping may be caused from DPC Latency spikes which are usually caused by faulty driver. What you need to do is download THIS program and run it. Play a video and see if the latency goes in the red zone, like random spikes. Then you know it's that. The solution is to replace the faulty driver. For me, it turned out to be a beta nvidia driver that I installed. However, uninstalling it didn't help. Had to do a factory reset and install the drivers all over again. Hope this helps. Good luck
