I recently got a new harddrive and I think I installed all the drivers, but now when I adjust the volume that box doesnt come on the screen indicating the volume level. Does anyone know how to get this back?

You need to install the Dell OSD driver. When you do a fresh install of your OS, it is recommend that you install the OSD (on screen display) driver last. If you already install it, uninstall first and re-install it again.

Download it under Application Tab. First one.

Seems like you missed the OSD driver, open the device manager and see if you missed any other drivers (it will appear with an exclamation mark and yellow triangle)

Here's the complete list of drivers for the M11x models, you can download the OSD for yours there.
