Alright folks. Finally got my alienware m11x i5 model and i didnt really reformat it or over clock it because im only playing warcraft 3 frozen throne. Figured it wouldnt be too much of a hassle. But all of a sudden in big fights im lagging. And i think to myself i love this laptop its supposed to be amazing why is it lagging in big fights. I do have the settings all on high but i mean its Warcraft 3 didnt think it be a huge deal. Any advice as what to do. Should i get a performance check and tell you how fast my laptop is going or something. And warcraft 3 is a program that is on the nvidia card so i believe the graphics card should be running as soon as i turn the game on.

any advice would be great i love this laptop like im a huge fan just a little bummed out at the moment and i hope i can fix it

You should try overclocking it. Large battles in SC2 were starting to lag for me until I overclocked mine. (and I have to run it with everything set to low)

First of all, mine had a freakout today during SCII. It happened because I had some AlienFX lighting that was changing constantly. My game was around 11 FPS, and as soon as I turned it to a steady color, my frames shot into the 50s. So if you have a funky disco pattern or any pulsing, turn that off first.

    Secondly, as for overclocking...it's simple.
    1. Restart computer
    2. Press F2 at the Alien head boot screen.
    3. This blue-grey screen is the BIOS. Use the arrow key to move until you get to the category with "Overclocking."
    4. Set it to enabled.
    5. Choose a speed (higher is better, 166 is maximum--although your comp may not be stable at the highest, this is for many reasons. If you get constant freezes afterwards, turn it down until you don't.
    6. Press F10 (i think...the one that corresponds to save and exit).

Or look is up on youtube. M11x overclocking
    ;)

Uh... don't OC for WC3 lol.... I'm pretty sure the game you have is not whitelisted. In my case I had to whitelist manually both RoC and TFT. Game's running maxed out highest resolution possible and getting 60fps all the time. Using 266.58 drivers.
