Thanks to the board members for the $350 coupon, that saved me a bit. Still, it came to just over $1400. I threw up in my mouth just a bit when I clicked "submit". :)

5/11 is the ship date though...sad emoticon. I hope it will ship sooner. I'll be pissed if the new model comes with the old hinge though.

And on that note, I have my tricked out R1 on sale if anyone wants it. C2D model, 8GB of memory, Intel 6250 (though, mine is the one that causes occasional lock ups, so I also have the stock Dell wifi card), 640GB hard disk, screen protector...

I haven't had the hinge fix done yet, though I haven't had an issue with it yet. PM me if you have questions (and if this wasn't the right place to post this, I apologize).

Hmm r3 is suppose to come out with the new and improved hinges I think. Let's wait and see some replies from more knowledgeable people. ;)

Sounds pretty good - so $250 given that it's obsolete?

    lol...your FACE is obsolete :D

It IS odd though, to think that I just bought my R1 this time last year. Of course, I've had it replaced twice since then, so I guess TECHNICALLY, my R1 is only 9 months old.

...and now it's two revisions old. Man, tech flies faster than time.
