The latest official set are the 197.72's on the Dell support site. If you search this forum you will find some people have had to resort to turning off hybrid mode in the BIOS and installing modded drivers in discrete mode.

Dell appears not to be providing driver support for the R1 any more, given the last set were uploaded in June and are based on a very old set of drivers.

If you turn discrete mode in bios you can install any driver from nvidia.com

It is not necessarly them. The M11xR1 video drivers are not ordinary drivers. They are hybrid drivers.
The only way new hybrid drivers for the M11x R1, is if both Nvidia and Intel work together to make a new driver. Problem is, Nvidia and Intel have not been so nice to each other now-a-days...

Especially since Intel is gonna be invading Nvidia's market.

Noah, you are wrong. Dell takes drivers from Intel and nVidia and combines them into their own driver. Intel and nVidia do not work together to create this special Dell driver.

    ^this.

Couldn't agree more. Sad thing is I remember when alienware was a premium brand that stood for quality and great after sales support. Now unfortunately it is just another label and part of the great sausage factory that is Dell, churning out products without adequate attention to their lifecycle.

Dell are in the market to make money not to serve customers. Unfortunately they taint previously valued brands like Alienware with this approach and stand to lose their customer base as a result.

Maybe you guys are being a little harsh, there hasn't really been many R2 updates from Dell either, just nVidia's drivers, not dell.

What exactly do you mean by color issues? Typically driver updates aren't going to have any impact on your display's color.

You are very astute sir. It was the cable-connector (DVI) that was at issue, I tried another and it worked fine though my son had already updated my driver to the Dell driver from June.

Hahahah... There is no other Hybrid Graphics notebook that has more updated drivers than the M11xR1. Alienware has gone above and beyond for you guys. Some of the people with Sony Vaio Zs who paid up to $4000 (some a bit more) for their notebooks have been stuck on 188 series drivers until yesterday when a 190 series driver leaked from Sony... yes 190 series.... Asus is pointing people to a post on this forum where I have slightly updated drivers ( they have pretty much given up). Every other driver I have seen for a Hybrid Graphics is 189 or older.

Many of these companies do not have the time or resources to keep these notebooks updated to the very latest. It is a costly and very time consuming process.

I will have a new set released soon, 260.63. It will cover the M11xR1 but I will need some testing before it will be fully functional. I more than anyone know the frustration of owning a Hybrid Graphics notebook, believe me. I have a hunch Alienware may be releasing some soon too.

The drivers were updated at the end of June. I am hoping that the end of September will bring a new driver. But the latest NVidia drivers do not affect the normal GPU users anyway. Its mostly SLi support etc.

Just give the Alienware guys the credit that there are at least driver updates. Some of the ASUS updates go back to the beginning of last year. They have to test the drivers properly and make sure they work well otherwise people will complain about bad drivers.

So its catch 22 for the poor guys. From my perspective I just want to say thanks for the updates we get, and thanks for the good support.
