When my M11x arrives, what software can be removed that is not required for the overclocking, lights, etc? I'm paying for an awesome Alienware and definitely want to keep the features I'm paying for.

But other things that aren't necessary I don't need. Is there a lot of it?

Except for Mcafree which I removed, nothing very clean install.
    Unlike most other company's.

That's good to hear. I'll probably just put Microsoft Security Essentials on it.

I also only removed the Antivirus and went with MSE...

There are some Alienware stuff, but IMO they are not that invasive, other brands put A LOT of software that a clean format is a must, Acer, HP, Asus, from the laps I have owned, they put a lot of stuff no one uses...

I did a clean reformat. Alienware does a pretty good job of keeping their machines bloatware-free, but there was still too much for my tastes.

When I got my Alienware M11x, I used the factory hard drive image and uninstalled software I didn't want, until I finally got the software config I wanted. I then did a clean reformat, and installed apps until I got the software config that I wanted.

The clean format was significantly faster in bootup (33sec vs 17sec on an SSD), and used significantly less memory on idle (1100MB vs 800MB), despite both machines having "identical" software configs.
