When i went to order them m11x i kept with the generic M11x but added R2 so it's M11x R2. what i should have done was this:

HAHAHAHAHA.....I missed my chance! maybe on the R3 if i bother to get it!

hhahaha good one on the first. My R1 came in with a typo on the nameplate so they sent me another... but they used two differen't fonts, it looks like, from the first one to the second one so I just kept the first one =)

Count me boring then too...mine just has my 'net handle on it (same as my forum handle).

Isn't that why they call it a nameplate???

I didn't want to regret having something that is childish.
I just put my full name on it, perfectly a normal nameplate !

I know some have just left it at the default or have their forum name/Xbox Live Gamertag/PSN ID/etc. I didn't out of fear that the m11x i would receive might be a dud.

do they give back your custom nameplate if you ask for a replacement?

I'm with mohaa7 on this topic. I wanted to use a cool name, but then I decided that I need to think smart and use my full name just in case some kind person were to find it lost and try to return it.

But I didn't want it to end there. I decided to add my nickname in Katakana at the end of my name.

If Dell is replacing your whole M11x, then they will be glad to help you change your customized name plate to the new replacement unit.

Hmm, that's odd... it seemed to show on the preview when I was customizing mine. Are you sure they can't engrave in Katakana?

Mine has my secret identity on it, along with a laser-engraved photo of me coming out of a phonebooth in spandex.

    ...I'm just kidding, it's my name. :)

Just so you know, I received my m11x in the mail today and everything on the engraving was perfect, including the Katakana characters. Turns out they can do it.

    It looks great.
