    Hi everyone,
I have a m11x r1 and had been problems with it from the begging on.. was running very hot at all times and sometimes suddently froze, etc. when the hindges were about to fall apart I called dell and they sent someone with a new display. I also told them about the other issues but they were like.. "lets first switch the display and see what happens".. like it would have anything to do with freezing. Now my question is, what do I have to tell them in order to get a replacement system or even a r2?

    Thanks in advance!

I dont think they will be giving you a r2 if they still selling r1's on the site. So your chances of that are very slim. Meanwhile, I would definitely as for a replacement straight up based on your information.

You will probably have to be more confincing than that, and more attempts to get it repaired.

See if formatting helps. If you think R1 runs hot, I'm pretty sure you will complain even more with R2's anyways.

In the hinge thread a couple people mentioned how their techs said after three part replacements one is entitled to a new system. I've never heard of someone getting an R2 as a replacement for an R1, though.

I agree. Either it never happens (dell policy?)

or they are told to hush up as part of the terms.

Call support and explain the issues you are having. They will troubleshoot the problem(s) and you are obligated to work with them.

You will not find a 'script' here. Talk to support.

    Thanks.
