    Happy New Year to all.

I have an M11X which of course has no cd drive. I do an have an external drive that I use but don't want to keep carrying it when I am on the road. I was wondering what is the best way to run games that I have the original Cd's with serial numbers with out the actual cd's? The games would be older non steam games such as CoD 1/2 and Command and Conquer games.

    Cheers

I'm pretty sure CoD 1/2 are available on steam. Your codes might work/should.
    Call of Duty on Steam
Call of Duty 2 on Steam
EDIT: I have the giant 6 CD CoD 2 set that I will probably try and download from steam.
EDIT2: I am having trouble finding a place to enter codes....

Hi I also have the 6 CD set of COD 2. Steam doesn't recognize it. I guess I will just shell out $30 and get it done the easy way.

you can get daemon tools, it emulates a CD drive

dunno if it will work with security measures like when games require a CD in the drive to start up, it did for warcraft 3 back in the day

but you'd need a way to get the CD mounted into the hard drive via external or through another computer on a network

Just create a mini-image of your installed games and then you can mount it with daemon-tools,the game will think the original retail cd is inserted and will start, there are tutorials about how to do mini-images! :D

you guys are all crazy go to gamecopyworld.com find your game, and install the no cd/dvd crack. copy file into original installation folder i suggest keeping the original file operate instead of overwriting. this way you can put it back to do patch updates as they will not work with the no cd/dvd cracks. Its completely legal as long as you own the game. Its the best way to do it on a computer that has no dvd drive.

but if you have the option of doing a mini-image, is better than crack the .exe! and its completely legal, btw, in gamecopyworld you can search for the mini-images im talking about, you will not find for all games but maybe for the ones you have!
