Dell Outlet, and wait for a good coupon and a good price. I checked just now and saw an i3 for just under $800 and an i5 for like $860. If you have a coupon you're all set.

It can IF you run it at the provided resolution and directly on the m11x itself. If you hook it up to an external monitor and raise the resolution you will have to turn some things down. Also a cheap m11x will usually be a lower end m11x. Which means that you might not be able to run it at full settings right out of the box.

Sometimes you can get lucky and find a cheap top of the line model. But that takes quite a bit of patience and luck.

And with that, Good luck! =)

Personally, I used the recent 25% coupon from Saveology and it worked perfectly. M11X R3 i5 for 800 including tax and shipping. If you're patient, these coupons come around every so often. If you want the system faster obviously you will pay a premium. Best of luck.

    Dell coupons.

I was able to score a new R2 i5 with 8gb ram for $630 shipped over a year ago. The PC still sells for more than I bought it!

Slickdeals usually keeps up pretty good with Alienware deals. I got a new R2 i7 for $850 about a year ago after reading about a deal.

I like the Dell Outlet, and the savings can be VERY significant.

However, the downside is that buying from the Outlet is basically buying a stock pre-made Alienware. Some of them have nicer upgrades, but most are no-frills no-extras (as to be expected with savings this big)

So if you're the upgrade-it-yourself kind of person, the Outlet is a good solution.

    Dell.

After haggling and discount codes and post-purchase refunds, i got my i5 R3 8GB for $640 with next day delivery and 1 year advanced warranty.
