    Howdo,

I've had this laptop/netbook for ages and never really thought about upgrading it till now, since I've had bad experiences when opening up my last laptop. But after seeing a video of how to open an m11x up it seem super easy so I've decided to go and buy some RAM to upgrade it abit.

Its an M11x R3 with an i3-2357M processor and currently only 2GB RAM in it. What RAM sticks specifically should I use buy? I've seen many different sizes and speeds (hurr hurr) when looking around and I'm thinking about just buying 2x2GB for 4GB RAM since I'm only really playing games on it and not creating any media.

Edit: I think a dupe thread of this thread may come up soon also, sorry about that.

i'd strongly recommend 8gb of ram. got 16 myself personally but dedicated 8gb for a ram drive. used to have 4, really bottlenecks on pretty much everything causing fps to suffer dearly whenever it needs to copy anything from pagefile.

I agree, I just upgraded my 11 from 6 to 16gb and the difference is fantastic :)

It will work, may cause stability issues later on but it may be just fine. It was not intended to run 16GB but it has been tested to work.

well i have been using 16gb for almost a year now without a single hiccup... it isn't even a good brand/expensive ones. It is quite unlikely to cause stability issues as i am quite sure the intel chips can support the 16gb without much problem.

By what i make out it is mostly about CPU supporting the amount of ram, as my old desktop, after a bios update once new intel CPUs were released would support 16gb ram instead of 8 if my memory is correct, it is around there anyways (got an 6300, intel later released updated CPUs for the same socket (775?) so after a bios update the asus motherboard would support the higher amount of ram)
