I found this glitch with my r2:

If I plug in my motorola droid and then turn on the laptop, it freezes during POST, and resumes POST immediately upon unplugging the phone.

Anyone else have a problem like this?

Sounds as if it's looking at the Droid as a possible boot device.

You're not the only one. I just experienced the same exact issue when I left my Droid X pluged in during boot...couldn't get past POST. But, unplug Droid and as is well.

Time to deploy the classic workaround?

"Doctor it hurts when I do this...."
    "Don't do it then!"

Check what the phone is set to as default when USB plugged in and make sure it's power only?
