Will going to 1600x900 be a huge hit?

I´m gonna get a 20" monitor, and is 1600x900, is gonna hurt in gaming? I can get a 1920x1080, but I think that is gonna hurt more, or even if I scale 1366x768, I think it should look better in the 1600x900 monitor than the 1920x1080....

Anyone with a monitor like that?

i hook my r2 up to a 21.5 inch 1080p monitor and it runs games like dirt 2 pretty much maxed out at like 26 fps.

With cpu overclocked to 160, gpu overclocked to 550/link/925. and throttlestop enabled.

My g/f runs HDMI out to a 23" external. When she's playing Starcraft 2 at 1920x1080 it can get choppy even with low-medium settings. Scaling back to 1600x900 helps out a lot.

My R1 is on a 1080p 23inch monitor and doesnt lose more than 10fps in WoW and other steam shooters. Black Ops loses a bit more but shouldnt kill your gaming.

Edit: I have a bunch of videos on my youtube page of several games running in 1080p

Thx, I got the 20" 1600x900 monitor, and is awesome, also it was $100 less than the 22" 1920x1080 monitor...

I´m gonna do some tests later....

I run WoW on my 40in 1080p TV on decent settings w/average FPS around 30. I always get better performance (45+ FPS) on just the laptop display or my 23in monitor... but not enough of a difference to stop using the TV

Well, that´s the thing, first, I don´t want to change that much my settings, like going from high to medium in some games, and at 1080p with some games, you need to, second, 1080p in a 22" is really small IMO, I have a 32" HDTV, and sometimes I used the tv to see the m11x, and it was already somehow small all in the screen, maybe you get used to, but I dunno...

I got the 1600x900 just for the m11x R2, and I wanted the lowest resolution with HDMI, and after weeks of just finding HDMI monitors with 1920x1080 resolution (or more), I found that monitor....

I´m gonna get a 1080 monitor later, maybe for other computer, right now my m11x is my main computer, and I think is gonna be for some years....
