I am really itching to get an m11x but the main reason I will be buying is to play these games, does anyone know from 1st hand exerience whether or not these games will work on the R2, If not I might have to settle for a much less cool notebook.

Star Wars Kotor, Jedi Knight, Republic commando
    Total Annihilation
Baldurs gate 1, Planetscape Torment, Masters of Orion, hopefully GOG games will work as I play alot of them.
    Unreal Tournament 2004
    Dungeon Keeper 1&2
    Stronghold crusader
    Command & Conquer Renegade multiplayer

Can someone try some of these games, thanks for the help.

Why not get an R1, the difference isn't that much for gaming.

Why wouldn't they work? They work on much much slower systems.

I can tell you first hand at least, from my R2, I play UT2004 on it. Connected to my 32" HDMI TV, 1920x1080, Ultra settings.

Notebooks can bit abit flaky with older games, mostly due to drivers, optimus is not known for stability. I could just get an R1 but I would rather have the faster cpu for games like supreme commander and other cpu intensive games, im big into rts as well as rpg games.

Well I tried NFS carbon and my frames dropped like crazy sometimes ..... So it doesnt matter if it is old. I played Splinter cell conviction medium settings and my fps never dropped.

I think you should probably worry more if the games will run on a 64bit windows. I haven't found any games that don't work on my m11x, thats related to the pc (but again I have the R1); most of the time the games don't work due to windows 7. I can vouch for Baldurs Gate 2 though. (I know it says 1 in your list; but maybe the engines are similar enough)

KOTOR runs like crap using nvidia, but it runs decent with the intel (far better than the nvidia handles it)

The only game I have tried so far since I got my machine this week. Maybe something is off with it right , but I need to try other games to verify.
