I distinctly recommend looking for standard-voltage ram, although just saying "my R2" doesn't really tell us what machine you have. M11x? M14x? M15x? M17x? m18x?

I'm assuming m17x r2, but anyway, first we need to know what machine you have.

Oh sorry!! I mean M11X R2... I thought I posted in the M11X forums, but must have missed or something... thanks for clarifying though...

So I take that the low voltage ram means that it's not on the recommended list!! :)

OK Maybe it's better that I keep looking for my 8GB of memory...

OK So I bit the bullet and went out and purchased some more RAM - and I think I might have purchased the wrong kind... it starts to boot into windows, but then stops and tries to run start up repair - but can't even boot into that...

    I have an M11x r2
    Samsung EVO840 250GB
    Windows 7 64bit

    I tried to install

    Patriot SO-DIMM 4GB Single DDR3 1333 Notebook RAM PSD34G13332S - MSY WA Cannington

Actually now that I look at the memory, I asked for the above chips but he gave me sticks which have

Patriot PSD34G133381S written on them... so he actually sold me these sticks
    http://www.patriotmemory.com/product/detail.jsp?prodline=3&catid=34&prodgroupid=203&id=1346&type=5

Did I purchase the wrong kind of memory? Just trying to figure out why my laptop won't boot properly with the new RAM - By the way it boots past BIOS but Windows does not like the new memory.... that's the confusing part.

    Anyways I appreciate any help!

I would return them and ask for the other ones.
