    Hey Everyone,

So my R1 has been running strong since day 1 and I just recently told it to upgrade to Windows 10 and all seemed well. Not sure if those remember, there was a regedit mod to make FN+F7 become F7 so changing volume would be easier like macbooks. Upgrading to Windows10 broke that so of course I quickly (and stupidly) ran the same program to change the keys back. Now my computer won't boot (clearly the regedit has changed and who knows what I actually did to the new regedit.)

It will boot to the bios and say its starting windows. Then it just sticks to a black screen. What's my best course of action now?

    Thanks.

Your best bet is to load Win10 Recovery. Either create bootable USB/DVD with Win10 iso or try to enter built-in Recovery. I assume you are in UEFI so lets wait what when somebody tells how to enter Windows Recovery. If you'd used Legacy Mode then all you had to do would be jut press F8 while booting.

I'm not too sure what you meant by legacy mode. I didn't do a fresh install, but simply upgraded straight from Win7 through Windows Update. Pressing F8 during boot didn't do anything either.

You can check if you're in legacy mode in the boot tab. I believe the R1 doesn't have the option, it's only legacy.

Try setting graphics to discrete in bios and see if it'll boot

You did it! That worked. Now to find drivers and backup my data. Also in this process I realize my laptop has no recovery partition. Weird
