In light of Microsoft's promotional upgrade to Windows 8, I jumped on the offer that was too hard to turn down.

I slapped in my new Samsung 830 SSD > clean install of Win7 (+ latest drivers, etc) > proceeded to Win8 UPGRADE

Everything is working dandy, but every reboot resulted in a "HANDLE ERROR" message - which prompted me to debug; I believe the issues lies with the Freefall Sensor Driver for m11x r2 which is probably incompatible for Windows 8, and if I uninstall this, the error message disappears.

    So my questions are:

    1) Is the Freefall Sensor Driver absolutely necessary?

    2) Will m11x R2 be fully supported to run Win 8? Based on Dell's support list, m11x R2 is not on the supported list

Thank you all for your time & assistance!

Windows 8 runs perfectly on the M11x R2, I have it installed.
The free fall sensor driver is not compatible and i never install it anyway. It is not required in order to have a fully functional system. It serves only to shut down your machine if it detects a free fall, to prevent damage to your hard drive.
Having a SSD installed is another reason to forget about it.
