I wanted to see if anyone else seems to have this issue. This has never happened on any other laptops Ive owned.

When I start my M11x-R2, right after I enter my password at the login screen I receive a 15 second lag or so where the machine freezes. I can move the mouse and click on programs, but it appears to be connecting to my wireless at the time according to the little icon in the corner.

Its not a big deal, but I am somewhat impatient - when I see the desktop Im ready to go. Does anyone else have this issue?

It is a known fact that the Windows OS brings you to desktop as soon as possible. However, it may not actually be ready for you for a little bit.

Is it possible that it is not so much that it is a wireless connection issue as much as a startup program issue? I have Steam, Fraps, Comrade, and other startup items that all grab heavy resources when starting up.

That is why I try to never shut down ... :)

You really need to get a life. You hate people like me... Because of something that does not effect you - regarding a laptop.

Most people would hate someone that has committed a crime, caused them or their friends personal anguish, or maybe someone that is publicly vocal about a touchy subject like politics or religion trying to force their views down on others.

If you hate people like me bc of something like this, you need to grow up. Also, thanks for providing nothing constructive to the topic at hand, other than to troll because you have nothing better to do other than focus on a remark that was made with no direct relation to the actual issue. Is this how you debate/discuss/work out in the real world?

I will double check the start up processes. Thanks for the feedback.

There was another thread full of people having the same problem; i.e., it took 20-30 seconds to get from entering one's password to being at the desktop. Try as I might, I can't find it searching. I remember, though, that no one could figure it out. edit here's the thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...-status-after-inputting-windows-password.html

Similar to what txa1265 said, I'd try disabling one boot item at a time to see if you can find a culprit.

p.s. kiwidaniel is a troll, so just ignore him.
