Walmart.com: Alienware Black 11.6" M11x Laptop PC with Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 Processor and Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium: Computers
It's out of stock, but it's slightly cheaper than the Best Buy model. Has the same specs as Best Buy, too (SU7300, 4GB RAM, 320 HDD)

I feel... dirty.
-
...this kinda bums me out.
-
Whatever. You can still only get the R2 versions online.
-
What has the world come to....
-
I had to check to see if it was April 1st.
I'm not going to begrudge Dellienware making money, but jeeze, guys. Walmart? Really? No kidding about feeling dirty... -
I feel really really dirty, my laptop that felt exclusive (IMO) is now going to hit the world like a normal laptop? Like a poopy gateway? Dell just killed a part of the alienware name by doing this. That is pathetic IMHO. That's one of the main things alienware has going for them is there name, also bieng exclusive to online buyers. People don't want to pay extra for an ordinary product, GG dell, you just lost a great market.
-
Best buy -
-
Hmm, good point.
-
I liked the exclusiveness that the alienware name once HAD.
In addition to this and all the build quality issues that have come up (we'll see how long my R2 lasts) I believe this will be my first and last alienware. In the mean time, I'll be enjoying it for sure.
Also saw the m15x at frys...not as bad as WM though. -
It's unlikely to sell at Walmart. Not like it helps how everyone feels about Dell (or really, more towards Walmart), but I always check the electronics section while I'm there and NEVER see anyone actually looking at laptops. Still, what a shame...
-
m11x is also at the sams club--which, I guess, is little less dirtier than walmart
. This is hilarious.
On a serious note--people will not buy a $1000 laptop that does not even have a cd-rw and only has 11.9" screen.. Mainstream consumers shopping in the Sams/Walmart are non-gamers, and will probably find the price of the laptop to be absurd.
Not sure who Dell hired to develop their 5+ year roadmap strategy, but that strategists certainly has no clue as to what kind of market AW should be targeted at. GG Dell- Please hire some competent people to do your corporate strategy work, and who actually has experience in the computer game industry. -
-
fyi...Sam's club is owned by walmart, so it makes sense that both stores have it.
-
The reason you now see the R1 in so many retail outlets is probably because Dell wants to liquidate their retail stock of it before being forced to put them up on the outlet site. -
-
$1 less.. thats killer. but the best buy one comes with 250gb, the walmart comes with 320gb.
-
-
Its great to see other avenues that the M11x can be purchased. Apparently Dell feels confident enough in it to release it to retailers which I would say is a good sign. The more people that buy and use it the more issues will hopefully be fixed.
I know Walmart has been looking at getting more into the gamer market, you would be surprised at some of the companies they have talked to. You might be seeing more gamer gear there soon. -
-
Not sure if Walmart is really a clearance center.
-
They'll sell anything that can turn a profit. And you really can't call it "clearance" if the people didn't know the product existed to begin with. -
Just keep in mind that the m11x is online only. Not sure if it makes you guys feel any less dirty. It doesn't for me.
-
I am not sure why anyone would feel "dirty". Walmart is one of the largest retailers in America. The M11X is an accessible mainstream laptop.
That means that mainstream America is more likely to buy that mainstream laptop at the largest retailer. Nothing dirty about it. -
Google "why wal-mart is the devil". That should get you started.
-
-
I will never give a cent to Walmart or Sam's Club.
-
I just registered and this is my first post , I just ordered my m11x from Dell -
I have only 1 word to say...DISSAPOINTED
-
Anyway, why do we care so much about this? Alienware wants to get rid of their old R1s, that's all. They even have them for sale at Costco!
How about we all think of it this way, Alienware is making room for the new R2s..... -
LMAO , its sold out . I dont think its a bad thing , i dont need to feel "special" i just want an 11" notebook that can game. If you really , really need that feeling to enjoy your alienware just get yours encrusted with diamonds or something. I think alienware moving out in the market is a great thing. Hell if they sold R2's at walmart I would wander down there and get one instead of waiting whats going to be 3 weeks to get mine from dell (july 15th , crossing fingers)

stevenxowens792 Notebook Virtuoso
In the end, what it means is sales to more of the "general public".. which in turn means more questions and traffic to the forums. In the end it means we need to keep our posts consolidated, condense when needed, sticky to make things easier to find. More alienware customers is a good thing! I would like to see this company get better and better. Profits can help make that happen.
Best Wishes,

Don't see why this is a big deal. Its a good money making move for Dell, and increases brand awareness. Win-win for alienware, and all alienware owners by extension. More money for the brand means that the brand expands, which means more support for the alienware brand.
And I don't know how 'exclusive' alienware has been since Dell bought them. They aren't really a boutique vendor anymore in my mind - not in the same field as Maingear, or Falcon NW, or something like that. When they start charging $700 for a paint job then maybe I'll change my mind. -
Well compared to manufacturers like falcon northwest, origin, and even voodoo pc, alienware isn't exactly a boutique brand, but w/e. Aliemware is on the same tier as apple nowadays...which is not very exclusive. And I guess that wally selling the m11x could be a good thing, but it's not in stores.
Oh, and wally is trying to compete with electronics stores like best buy, frys, etc, so that's why they are carrying more computer goods now.
You can now buy Alienware at Wally World
