I bought 2 m11xr1's one for me and one for my cousin. We live in two different houses and we both are noticing some kind of liquid on our screens forming in vertical lines, you can just wipe it off and it just comes back later. We are both playing indoors... anyone else notice this at all?
-
There was a thread a few months back about something just like this. Not sure how things ended though.

It's probably sweating from the overclocking.

check if you have vertical lines on nvidia and none of them on intel? my problem fixed but itself...

Your screen is touching the keyboard when it is closed, I have the same problem, just you soft cloth and wipe it off, or put the white fabric sheet you get when you first unbox the M11X and put it on the keyboard before closing.

That's the keyboard touching the lcd screen when the lid is close
It is one of the m11x factory engineering defect that some m11x owners (including me) are experiencing next to the hinge defects -
I have the same issue, and its from the keyboard touching the LCD. You're not noticing it until after you have been using it for awhile - as its only noticeable at certain angles and on some colors. It's not forming magically from the LCD while its in use. -
Is this a common problem ?

Its Alien Juice lick it for special powers...
-
I doubt it's from being against the keyboard, what evidence makes this justifiable ? -
If its around the wasd keys or lower left of the screen... It's cause the if you noticed the keyboard is slightly higher around that area because the cpu/gpu is located there and there are no screws to tighten the keyboard down in that area. If that is where the lines are formed at.

If he is talking about the smudge marks on the screen, that is anything from foam, lol, it is from the keyboard (plastic) rubbing up against the screen which is also plastic.
-
-
I recalled someone saying something about foam or like a water residue ?
-
well I will be modifying my laptop rubber stoppers on the sides to keep a further distance between the screen and keyboard. this is so stupid
-
Just buy a large micro fiber cloth to put in between. How would you modify this?
-
-
it might not site even ?
-
.
-
Sounds like oil on the screen. Put that felt piece between the board and the screen when you close it.
-
I get the smears from my keyboard touching the screen. If only the little rubber stoppers were slightly taller. I also already chucked that white piece when I received my m11x (unaware of this issue)
-
Lol, my outlet model didn't come with one...
-
Buy a nice gaming pad that doubles as a screen protector. Thats what I did for both of mine, one is even a micro fiber on one side and a shinny on the other to wipe the screen and use the mouse. Cheap at Best Buy.
Also Razer sells them on line.

-
Yeah, I'm still happy with the price I got my system for

Beware the gaming pads such as the Kabuto, which is really pretty thin as pads go, being too thick and causing stress on the already suspect hinges. The felt that ships with the M11x or something along those lines is a much better solution.
-
Both u and ur cousin need to stop fapping into the kb.
-
-
-
ZOMG that's so funny and so true at the same time....
-
Well this isn't getting ridiculous at all now is it...
-
Agreed... put nothing on your keyboard unless sure it isnt pinched at the hinge side. It will add stress to the hinges.
Adding taller rubber bumpers will afford you more space to add a keyboard cover. I preferred to use a clear rubber sheet just for this purpose... not to protect the screen but for the kb. Bonus: it stays on the kb during use and is one less thing on the table or to mess with when on the go. -
yep, I've seen this too - first time i saw it kinda assumed I had spilt something, then saw it again, and then a third time. Laptops been off a week now though, will have a look again when I get home.

Always seems to be in exactly the same place too.

It's the grease off of your fingers on they keys going on the screen when you close the laptop normally as the screen rests against the keys.
-
It's acid. Everyone knows all Alienware computers bleed acid when shot!
