Isn't it used to protect the exterior of the laptop?

Yeah, just noticed myself that it appears to leave out protection for the screen. Which is sad, because that's all I care for.

I am absolutely disgusted with Zagg and Invisible Shielf protectors. I don' think they do much. My Zune HD shield has scratches all over it despite them saying its pretty scratch proof. But I mean come on.. all I did was put it in my pocket with nothing else in it.

Thats unfortunate, at least your Zune HD is left unscathed. :D

I have a Zagg invisible shield on my Iphone and apart from being tricky to fit it is brilliant.

Well yea, but like for my HTC Touch Diamond, I put on a cheaper (mine you the invisible shield cost $25) $10 or less shield on it. Its got less scratches than the zune hd has despite being a year older (and frankly handled slightly worse).

Hell the zune even has scratches from constant sliding it in and out of a case.. the fk (same case used on htc touch diamond)

It could be that I got a slightly crap shield.. but if expirience is anything to go by, I'm not impressed. There are other alternatives, but I don't know if they do laptop shields.

If you're happy to go down this road I say go for it, but my experience wasn't great.

I think I might get this. I have the Zagg Invisible shield for my iPod Nano and it looks excellent, One on my 3G iPod click wheel, and one on my Kindle. All three have cases on over the invisible shield. iPods have Speck Cases over the inisible shields, Kindle has a leather binder case over it. I usue it to prevent dirt from scratching the product as it gets in the cases. I really like them and they still look great when I take them out of the cases.

EDIT: Well I ordered it so well see how it works out. I'll post pics when I get it, which I won't anticipate for at least two weeks.

I really want a protector like this. I have been hoping that Phantom Skinz will make one for the M11x. Invisible shields are good, but they tend to be a little thick.

I'm probably going to by the invisible shield, though. I take my M11x with me everywhere. I need all the protection I can get.

I found that that when I used this product with my iphone the protector atually changed colour and looked dirty. This seemed to be due to the temp of the phone. This was not the problem apple had with the plastic changing colour as once removed the phone looked fine.

The contoured lid may pose some issues with application IMHO.

Right, I've got it and installed it, just waiting for the "micro bubbles" to "work themselves out over a few days".

The part that goes over the palmrest doesn't look too flash tbh.

I have an Invisible Shield on my phone and I'm satisfied with it for the most part, but it does have some blemishes and is starting to get dirty and peel up around the corners after a year of use. I would purchase it again for a phone, but I don't think I would ever consider putting one on my laptop.

I had a Zagg shield on my iPhone. I didn't like the quality of the plastic film. It was orange peel city. It also yellowed.

I have it just the palmrest atm, I tried the mouse area protector and it was BAD, it made it non responsive! I had to remove it...

I just dont dare to install the back part... It seems hard to install also they send a very small spray! it is not enough for the installation.

It doesnt look very nice* but since I game alot I have to protect my baby...

    EDIT:

Just installed the back part and it is gorgeous (although it is not perfect), it gets more finger prints now but who cares!?! :D my laptop is fully protected now, I even cut the touch pad area to recicle the plastic and apply it over some other areas...

This makes the laptop more glossy..

    Will post pictures later.

You do realize that if the shield gets damaged or scratched you can replace it for FREE, right? All you have to do is register on ZAGG to get that benefit.

Ah yes, but I'm not IN the USA.. so It would be a waste of time to send it back and get it replaced, since I bought it there :(

Zagg is a good screen protector for mobile phones or displays that aren't compressed.

In my experience if you have two invisible shields pressed together, they end up starting to stick to each other, thus if you put some on the palm rest and then a whole one over the screen, you might end up having trouble opening the laptop.

I can see why they're selling it as a film you apply on the casing instead of the screen itself, as if you put it on the screen the pressure from the screen on the keyboard when it's closed would cause imprints on the invisible shield (Noticed this after putting my phone and keys in the same pocket, ends up causing indentations on the screen protector).

It's a good protector for devices in which the screen is open to air and won't be compressed against anything.

You're doing it wrong. If you install the trackpad shield nearly dry, it is responsive. Install that part wet and it really sticks within the grooves.. making it completely unresponsive.

I just got around to installing my ZAGG Invisible Shield. Looks great on the top, but wanted to know if anyone else installed it. I also installed it on the touchpad buttons, as well as the plastic. What a pian to work with, especially on the plastic.

Anyone install it on the actual touchpad? I have a piece for that but wanted to get thoughts before I did it.

What are your thoughts on how it sticks to the plastic? Is it come off easily? I found the less spray used the better.

Overall I like it, but looking for other opinions, maybe some who have had it on for a while now.

I had invisible shield for a phone once and will never go back again. One of the major faults i saw was it advertised itself as scratch proof. Totally wrong. Put the phone with my keys and saw scratches that lasted until the day i threw the phone away. Next point was the fact that it had the orange peel effect. If you don't know what it is, imagine the skin of Not all will have it but if lets say i put it on my m11x wouldn't i expect it to look perfect? Lastly, after a year or so of application, the skin tends to yellow. Yes theres a life time warranty but do i really want to reapply every so often? All these points deterred me away from such products and i personally don't think i'll ever use it again.
