So, i had an unknown virus from an unknown location which messed up my system big time. so much i could not start up my machine, so what did i do? i used the "oh " disc provided by dell, which i thought would restore my machine to the alienware defaults but that would make too much sense. i was supposed to use my alien respawn but since i couldnt boot my system how was i supposed to get to it?, my alienware m11x used to run like a dream. but since i used the disc to reinstall windows, my machine doesnt recognize a graphics card, all alienware programs are gone, it did not install the alienware version of windows. and several other things. just curious if there is any way to fix these issues, the most important of which is the graphics card not showing up at all. any help would be greatly appreciated! :D

    system score since reinstall:
    processor: 4.1
    memory: 4.8
    graphics: 3.2
    gaming graphics: 3.2
    primary hard disc:5.9

You didnt install any of the drivers did you?

Go to dells website, pick your computer on the support page, download drivers.

Yep, you need drivers. Go HERE and enter your service tag or manually select your model (R1/R2/R3).

HERE is the Dell instructions for driver installation on the R3 (previous models will follow similar steps but you won't use the drivers linked on that page).

Be sure to read the descriptions, not all the drivers listed will apply to your machine. Your specific hardware configuration will only require the drivers for what's actually inside the machine (i.e. a Dell 6250 wireless card will only need the applicable driver for that specific wireless card, not the 4 other ones available under the wireless card category.)

I went through the same process when swapping out SSD's. All the drivers for your display card/wifi/sound/usb as well as the Alienware Command Center (keyboard lights etc) can be found in the same place. Some drivers will autorun while others will require you to go into the extracted file and launch the installer. As added security, I rebooted after installing each driver to avoid any installation conflicts.

Which revision do you have? Also, make did you delete all partitions before installing windows? It's better to do a clean install to avoid further problems.

Anyway, here's the list of drivers and the correct order to install them for all m11x models

    M11x R1
    M11x R2
    M11x R3

seems as though the driver installation fixed the graphics, the rating is back up to a 6.5. its strange because i thought i had the driver (installed from the nvidia site) but i guess i was mistaken, hopefully i can get everything back to the way it was before. thanks for your help guys!!

Looks like you ran the WE score on the internal HD card which is why you got such a low rating and then once you installed the Nvidia drivers it ran from the dedicated card.

I find it easy to go through and download all the latest driver packages and then have them on the USB stick with a clean installation ready to go saves a lot of time :)
