I got the fast track and my initial battery estimates are 5 hours of constant browsing on power save move at 80% brightness. My CPU and GPU are overclocked.

not bad at all! how about if you don't OC? can you try that?
-
Perfect just as i expected. 5 hours is plenty considering the hardware inside
-
thanks tassadar... have you gotten a chance to run wprime 32 via the OC'd CPU? Very curious about those numbers...
-
varies 39.5-41 sec for 32m
-
thanks plus repped. looks like i5 is solid option for battery too.. unsure on numbers with i7 yet.

i7 running @ 16.2v when O/Ced to 164Mhz
-
Just curious, what does your nameplate say on the bottom of your FastTrak M11x?
-
-
nameplate just says m11x and i was overclocked 560/900 (core/memory) on GPU and 166 fsb CPU.. i got close to 6 hours today once I disabled the alienwarefx effects and all the back lighing.
-
Thanks for the update! Is that 6 hours estimated or 6 hours until it shut down?
Either way that's great news. After that video with the Alienware rep who said the R2 would be around 5.5 hours, I was worried given that they usually overestimate battery life. -
I know this is a thread for the i5, but here's some i7 battery usage for comparison as that's what I've been focusing on today.
Two complete cycles - fully charged to automated shutdown at 5%. BatteryBar is estimating 5:45. Screen brightness at 50% and otherwise default Balanced power profile. Wifi on, bluetooth radio off.
Outlook open all day, heavy Firefox use including flash video streaming, roughly 2 hours of 720p mkv playback to my TV this evening. -
Good to hear Slickie, can't wait to get my i7. Not to get too off topic but how do you like your Momentus XT?
