On the r2 you cant manually switch, only the r1 owners can do that. Yours is automatic with optimus. See the "whitelisting" thread thats at the top of the forum for info about that stuff.

Just install the new bios you downloaded, it will overwrite the current bios.

Just install the new bios. Just so you know, you voided your warranty if you had any by installing a non-dell bios version (Correct me if I am wrong).

The techs don't know the difference. it shows up as A03 (which is a dell certified bios).

On topic: Set Nvidia Control panel to high performance and make sure pre-rendered frames is set to 0 instead of 3 which is the default. It helps a lot.

No, you have erased it and installed the new one. Just curious though, why are you so worried? It has been tested by many users (including myself) and if anything it increases the stability (and allows further overclocks) of the GPU.

Where did you here that? There are no heat issues with the modded bios that I have read or witnessed. I'd put it back on if I were you.

Give the other steps a try. You only get better at things by trying.

If I understand it correctly, It increases the voltage that the motherboard gives to the GPU. It only gives .05V above normal. It cannot go any higher with a BIOS mod. Only other way to go would be to do a physical volt mod which I do not think anyone has done yet.

Move voltage to the chips allows you to run it at a higher overclock which will get a gain in FPS in game.
