    Hi everyone,

I'm looking into buying a M11x, I'd like to know about the performance and battery life difference between SU7300, core i3 and core i5 processors.

From reviews it seems that an overclocked SU7300 is around the same as the i5. So what about i3?
    - is it overclockable?
    - is it around the same performance as i5?
    - does it give the laptop a better battery life compared to i5? (statistics would be great)
    - what would you ultimately recommend as the processor to get?

    thanks in advance.

Actually the SU7300 stock would run the same as the stock Core i3, and probably have the same battery life. Only when overclocked the SU7300 is as fast as a STOCK i5. No one has tried OC'ing the Core i3 yet.

Its not confirmed yet, but I think the big issue with the R2 is that optimus isn't really turning off the GPU and thats why battery life is so much worst on the R2.

Whether thats true or not I think its clear that if you want battery life, get an R1.

    thanks for the replies guys,

yeah I've been seeing thread regarding to issues with R2 aye..... but still I trust in Dell to release a fix in the near future. I might wait until proper reviews of core i3 comes out though.... hopefully it performs well against i5.

How's the i7 owners getting along with their M11x?

I can tell you that this has not been the case on my R2 based on monitoring I've done for the past couple of days using the Optimus GPU State Viewer that Nautis passed on to us. The 335 is not staying on after it's been called by an application, nor is is activating on its own.

He means that the "off" mode for Optimus isn't truly off, but a low power idle. Unlike the R1's hybrid, which shuts the GPU off fully.

the thing is that when you overclock the su7300 it undervolts making you have more battery life and more performance, where the stock i5 still eats 5 hours maximum.
