    do you need to disable Intel SpeedStep when OC?

    is it better to disable it when OC? or leave it enable?

    you dont need to disable speed step. all it does is it clocks down the processor when it doesnt need the extra power. keep it on, better for battery life also.

    Disabling SpeedStep and TurboBoost can allow less throttling and thus better performance but thats why UncleWebb created ThrottleStop so there is no need to disable either.

    Before ThrottleStop was "invented" for the M11x I found disabling SpeedStep and TurboBoost had a major performance impact for some games. GTA IV for example, my FPS doubled.

    If you don't like using ThrottleStop for whatever reason I do suggest turning both off not just one because otherwise they will not function properly.

    Also you can try disabling both and setting your BLCK higher so you can have TurboBoost on permanently.
